Anonymous asked: I'm scared about coming out, but I know I can do... I'm just scared about coming out to my extended family. Half of them are super Catholic. Do you have any advice?
Yeah, extended family is always the most awkward. Half of my family is really Catholic too so I had the similar fear about coming out. I think the best way to come out to extended family is to just be yourself lol. Well, like since it is just extended family there really isn’t any need to have the typical “sit down” conversation. Just live your life as you are and just don’t hide it. For example, if you are a lesbian and an aunt/uncle ask if you have a boyfriend just be like “No, but I have a girlfriend” or “No, I’m not really looking for a boyfriend and I haven’t seemed to find the right girl for me yet.” So, its subtle but it gets the point across or just bring your significant other to a family event if you have one! That’s what I did! :) I hope this helps! :) -Caryse
